Right, Innocent needs a hand here sorting practice times etc so can we all post up times we are available. Ideally an hour or two on a weeknight/s for a mess about practice and a "serious" hour at the weekend to try out any ideas we've had through the week.

I can reserve any weeknight except friday, but Mondays or Thursdays would be my preference (purely from a football point of view :p). Time wise I dunno whether a pair of 1 hour sessions on weeknights or a single 2 hour session would be better. I tend to get bored after a while, plus reserving an entire 2 hours on a weeknight can be hit or miss. Weekends, Id suggest either a Saturday pre-lunch or Sunday afternoon/evening purely based on who I see on our servers - thats when people seem to be available to play.

I should stress though that weekdays should be seen as purely a mess about. My idea would be to set up either offence v defence or if we have enough an 8 v 8. We can just piss about and see what works and what doesn't, get used to working together as a team etc, mainly just get some ideas to try at the weekend. More of a clan night than a practice, the more the merrier.

I'm thinking the sunday thing for through the week really as that's when we're likely to suffer most with players not being available. Weekends should be easier as people can better plan what theyre doing in advance, hence the thought that weekends be more of a practice and a warm up for matches and weeknights more of a tester and bonding exercise (easy gimp!(gimp)).

How about this (tentatively):
Monday 8pm to 10pm - free for all, server passworded but password listed on the public forum.
Thursday 8pm to 10 pm - same as above.

Attendance for these is NOT required. Im sure everyone enjoyed Sunday's mess about and I don't see why we can't make that sort of thing a regular community event. Arrive early to avoid disappointment, non clan members will be asked to drop out for clan members and regs to join. We could use server #2 for this. The other possibility is that 8pm to 9pm is by invite only, after 9pm as people leave anyone can join (still passworded though - will encourage use of the forums too).

Maybe put a community announcement on the MOTD on each server about this linking to the forum for the password and giving the times.

Saturday 11am - 1pm - practice. Clan players to attend, please let people know if you can't. A forum post should be put up in the members area for anyone to say if they can't attend. Regs to fill up the places until we have 18 players on the server. 1 red cameraman, 1 blue cameraman and 8 on each team. Id suggest that we have a clan defence on blue and clan offence on red, make up the teams with regs, that way we (supposedly) give each section the hardest job possible. We could use the custom server for this as we would only need circa 18 slots. Saves taking down one of the main servers. Id suggest we use the custom for matches as well (seems to ping lower apart from anything else ). Obviously we can change this time or day if needed, but I think weekends are best for serious practice as were more likely to playing matches on weekend evening I would've thought, so this could make a useful warmup.

i dont think this is a very good time, a lot of ppl will more than likely be out during that time on that day. Especially ppl with families, i think practices should be always in an evening.

Yeah I can understand that dude. I was thinking the weekend is really a family/social time, and going from experience I'm loath to leave the house before lunch! I also seem to see a lot of people online at this time. We have to watch making practice conflict with possible match times as well. I was thinking of trying to get serious matches in on Sunday nights so that we have a practice before and a mess about the day after to come up with new ideas based on the previous days match? We could then perhaps fit friendlies in on wednesdays (which the regs could attend as well if we need numbers?).

I'm wary of trying to organise too much - there could be up to 8 hours gaming per week there for people, but with having 18 members and squillions of regs I think giving people the choice of whether they want to play or not is a good thing. We will always be able to scrape up 8 players for a friendly game and the mid week muck about has a way of attracting people itself . The only compulsory's (barring unavailability of course) would be the serious practice and the match (if picked and available). I also wouldn't say be there for the whole time if you don;t want to. Early attendance would be beneficial as this would be when tactics for the map are explained, but after that if you need to go, then go . However much time people want to dedicate to the game we should be able to provide for given the number of servers and players we have.

Time for the weekend needs to be voted on by people based on availability. I'll start a separate thread. Do we all agree on Saturday for practice and Sunday for games?

I probably cant to Saturdays at all and Sundays would have to be after 6pm.
Most weekday evenings should be fine though.

My availability: Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sun after 9pm GMT. That goes for matches too.

If people are happier doing the matches and proper practice on weeknights we can do that instead? I assumed that we'd have more available at the weekend, if thats not the case not a problem, we can have a community night saturday night and sunday night, a praccy in the week and arrange matches say Tuesdays or Thursdays? Slap a practice in the middle and have that wednesday?

I'm going to post a vote in the members area but unfortunately I dunno how. I pm'd the gimpster asking him how but he's not picked it up yet. On second thoughts maybe an announcement so its noticeable? Anyone else know how to post a poll?
