due to community response, the complexity of this and craki being in noodle land, i present the following stamp:

Just to expand on that a little, due to the high number of feedback with regards to the running, there are so many different ways you can run this tournament that people arent gonna be happy with the one we pick. Therefore to save causing problems its better to call it off. However it is too early to run just yet but about two weeks before I am due to come back from china I will announce the second nations cup (if people are up for it) and run it similiar to the last one. Of course I will try to build on suggestions submitted for the last one and adjust as appropriate, but I think the last tournament ran well and it should stay in a similiar format. But that can be discussed closer to the time of course.

And of course if people wish for this to run sooner (it will be around two months from now that it will start) I have no problem setting it up.

i don't think this is a good idea but here it goes:

to find, for example, the best pyro what about put all the pyro member in a team and face them against a 9 (including pyro) classes team?! the best pyro should be the best pyro...

i don't know if a 9 same class vs 9 different class is the way to go but it's just another idea

No no bfox please dont think of it like this. The whole point of this topic was to get feedback from the community on the event. Fact is with the nations cup it was a bit of a simpler idea and feedback was directed towards that idea. However with this, there were so many different ways to run this one event that its impossible to pick one to please everyone. So the people who brought forward their ideas and showed us what would have happened have saved a lot of hassle because the tournament may not have been a very big success

Aye, i might have been a bit cryptic with my post, the fact is, this was stickied on all of the major folders, we got about 3 pages of replies, around half of which were ideas for doing it differently, so numbers would have been short, given the amount of effort that would have to be put into this, the yield simply isnt large enough.

It's no ones fault, this tourny was only in the planning stages, with base ideas, like craki said we made this thread for feedback, and the feedback is that the community would not really be up for something like this, so we dont release the product, we might come back to this in a few months and tweak it a little bit to see if the community response is higher, but for now this idea has been shelved, and this post could do with being de-stickied in a couple days time....

It still might not be a bad idea to run a Highlander Reg match sometime though, and I reckon you'd get a fair amount of signups for things like Soldier Duels, bball, Demo duels and 2on2 Scout, Pyro Paintball etc. Just don't call it "Best of Class" .

Unfortunately I dont really think it would be a great idea for it to be held just yet. With people off on holidays and such sign ups for these sort of things have dropped. Even extra's valiant efforts and threats of death have just about turned up a full cast for tomorrows ladies night. So if we run another one of these type of events, gods gaming day or ladies night will suffer. Best off keeping a giant sack of ideas and running them when popularity increases in the likes of ladies night and gods gaming day

fair enough dudes, altho i think you would of got a lot of sign ups, as this is a suggestion thread cant really judge by it i think majority of people who would like to sign up will do on sign up thread and not make suggestions of improvment.
