what you honestly thing that we wont take certain circumstances into account? im talking about people just not bothering. i think it would work as a deterrent, if you cant make a match you need to tell people in advance if you dont then you get a strike, 3 strikes and your out. also if you dont plan on not bothering then what have you got to loose? signing up is a commitment to play the games if you dont think your gunna be about at all then what the hell are you doing signing up?

also do you rly think anyone would want you on their team after what you pulled the last time? bullshit excuses aside, you didnt tell anyone you weren't available and just pared it off. i know cos i remember talking to neg about you last time

*edit* at the end of the day im not saying how it should be done, its just a suggestion

I think I speak for all the management when I say that reg tags will never be taken away for missing an event.

Some kinda punishment is needed....maybe a ban from community events for a short period. But only if it's repeated absence plus not giving notice.

I think the giving notice thing is really important

If I had been able to give notice I would have done, and frankly, it just wasn't one of my top priorities at that time anyway. I'm sorry that you apparently don't buy my bullshit excuses. I would hope a team would still take me, in fact I would have quite liked to have a second go at it. The only reason I will not sign up is because I have a commitment to XS, and with the leagues looming and PCWs almost every night (which I show up to almost without fail) I don't think I would be able to juggle both.

As I have pointed out already the prospect of punishment wouldn't have prevented either of us signing up, it wouldn't have prevented either of us from missing the games and it wouldn't have made us more likely to give warning. This whole thing felt like a bit of a snipe tbh. I don't think anybody else missed 3 games in a row...

As for the 5 man thing, thats not a bad idea. Only thing is ofc that some teams might find it a wee more difficult to get a full team together. It wouldn't have helped Surrey much either, given we had 2 players missing :P

I can see why no shows are annoying, and why coming up with options is good, which is one reason CrakI has said 5 players this time round.

But would a ban on GGD or LN really work? Apart from people that play every week, probably not - and whats the difference between this and Bo's idea of removing the tags? Both are harsh and extreme - which is why I'm glad to see K3D's opinion on the matter.

If I sign up, and it's still an if after last time, I'll be making it clear that my job means I can be called out without any notice, 24/7 - and I know I won't have time to post on here as I'll have less than 2 hours to cross all of London, and sadly it's slightly more important than this - sorry CrakI!

Maybe CrakI should consider what terms people can merc for other teams, different group maybe rather than not signed up at all, more flexibility and at least it'll be someone whose interested in the game.

Captains should be given the freedom to bring in more than 5 players if they see fit.

While reliability is key to the success of things like this, real life obviously has to take precedent at least on occassion. If its known that some players' availability will be limited, more squad members will be needed to make up for that. This should lessen the need for any punishments being dished out.

I reckon banning people from GGD/LD etc is a bad idea for the same reason. However team captains should be able to drop players (and recruit replacements) if they feel they cant depend on them.

Ok first of all apologies for not being here, I didnt get any e-mail reminders about this topic and have been busy lately trying to sort crap out in work because im leaving this place soon.

Right first of all,
Bo -
Im not sure why you think the 5 man team is a bad idea, maybe you could elaborate on that one? I realize that it means team captains have to decide on who plays and who doesnt, but the thing about it is, it makes organising matches a lot easier because there are more people and if one is missing its not a problem. The second is that I was planning to try and make it that each player must play a certain number of matches. So it gives the team captain the choice of when to play people. However with the current sign ups we are getting, were gonna struggle to have 3 man teams nevermind 5 man.

With regards to the punishment system. Ok fair enough we had a few problems the last tournament, but the last tournament was a learning curve for this one. We can now implement this sort of stuff like team captains making a decision that they want to drop a player in place of a new one if they can find a suitable person. We can factor into the rules that if we dont hear from someone for a week that they are dropped. But we cant go into the fact of punishing people for shit that goes on in real life man, its uncontrolable. I agree yes its frustrating, and personally if i remember correctly I apologised to inside joke for getting a bit pissed off, because its out of anyones control what happens in real life.

Inside joke -
I would really like you to take part in this tournament. Im not going to hold a grudge or anything and as i said just now to bo, i believe i apologised if i remember correctly for gettin a bit pissed off. I fully understand that real life gets in the way sometimes so we all gotta deal with it, if your commitment to XS is too big then thats fine, but if you can handle it please sign up.

KB -
'If I sign up, and it's still an if after last time' - explanation?

As i said above sign ups are poor at the moment so im looking for as many people to sign up as possible. If we get enough sign ups and everyone is ok with the 5 man team thing, i will try to make sure your on a 5 man team, so that if you need to rush off, then someone is there to replace you. Either way, id like to see you sign up.

CrakI, nothing to do with the running of the first one, which was great, just other stuff in general...

And you know me, I'll be the last sign up if needed.. :P

Well, if signups are not coming in as they were before perhaps I can be persuaded. I think Telgor signed up, so if he can work around XS then perhaps I can too. I don't think Negcreep will want to be in the same team as me again though, so I'll wait to see if I can perhaps fill a gap in a team that doesn't mind having me.

No need to apologise btw, the way I remember it your annoyance with me was justified.
