Yeah, agent pretty much sums it up.

I find two problems with KOTH:
1. It drops fps. My normal fps is about 60-70(I play WINDOWED, yup, that's right, on all graphics low.), my fps whne playing KOTH(Viaduct, to be exact) is about 20-30.
2. Arena requires more skill. If you die in KOTH, hey, you just respawn. If you die in Arena, you have to explain this to your other three angry teammates.

Should there be a no vote for all of these, or are the votes counted against the number of votes in total?

Im fine with anything, although i will rage if anyone hits me with a sandman.
Also about the match times. Do you mean different teams playing a game one day after another ( eg monday finland vs germany, tuseday switzerland vs mongrels? ) or the same team playing a game a day?

Im pretty sure its the latter although i need things explained to me in a obvious way.

Haven't participated in a nations cup before, but here goes:

1. No, I like arena better and like said, it does require more skill. Koth has very few maps, spam, and lower fps (they do run better with fewer players but still, they perform quite poorly for me).

2. Sounds good, always nice to have more variety in maps.

3. Why not.

4. Nope, 1 game day per week sounds much better to me than having to do it all in a straight row.

5. Can't comment since I haven't participated before, so I didn't vote for it.

6. Yes. I don't see anything bad with using unlocks like dead ringer or sandman, the players are paying for it anyway (for example, scouts die from a single pipe bomb with the sandman - and it takes a lot of skill to manage to stun correctly, and the balls are relatively easy to dodge).

I should have put in a vote, saying that anyone taking part in the vote please vote here. So we would have had a count on the number of people that have taken part in the vote. However I hoped everyone in the tournament would have voted by now or at least done something to put a comment forth, it seems that isnt so by the number os responses and poll votes. I have read through the comments of everyone and there seems to be a general consensus between most people on most of the issues. I will post a summary later in the week or towards the weekend of what has happened in the topic and what will be implemented.

One thing that was suggested to me was that the tournament ran too long that it should be over a few days or so. However, that isnt viable. The next thing I thought of is getting ta group of four teams to play all their matches on the one day. But even that is tough to sort out. As many have said the last system worked so I believe it will stay to that system.

Well with a bit of prompting from crakIShadow ;) I got round to voting. Voted for all unlocks (they're part of the game so I think you just have to deal with them) and maps as I can't see a problem with that idea.

I didn't play last time but don't see a problem with the win limit or scheduling as it stands. Arena is also fine by me (although I'll probably die first everytime!).

Regarding the weapons, some of them are incredibly cheap and have no place in an online fps in my opinion. The two below would probably be the most detrimental to the tournament.

1. The Sandman - I have to disagree Finzy. This weapon takes very little skill to use, and is mostly used as a crutch by bad scouts (just like the FAN). It's a fast-firing projectile weapon that has the same massive hitbox as every other projectile in the game. Hitting people with it (especially the heavier classes) is very easy, and could just lead to frustration and cheap free kills if allowed. What were Valve thinking?

2. The Dead Ringer - this unlock is just an annoying damage shield. As long as there is plenty of ammo around, the spy can stay alive almost indefinitely. It's completely broken in my view. The minimal effort required to use it is highly disproportionate to the time and effort needed to hunt down a DR spy.

Totally agree with Gash.

The Dead Ringer is broken in its current state. Its incredibly cheap within cp/ctf/pl maps. It certainly has no place in a balanced arena tournament where HP is at an extreme premium.

And for the benefit of Bo and Craki, the sandman is NOT permitted in ETF2L.

I did not play the last HH Nations Cup, I cannot see much so far that I would want to change so happy to just go with the flow.

1) I think its best if we keep arena. I dont like it as much as KOTH, but imo its better for this tournament

2) voted yes, more maps is always a good thing

3) yeah, seems fair to me

4) yes, but keep in mind that its hard to get people together for a match. We all have things to do. So doing al the matches in a couple of days seems a bit to possitive. But trying to do them the less time then last HHcup seems like a good idea

5) 19 or so sounds about right. that way, if you have two or three bad rounds doenst mean all is lost

6) All unlocks
