It would be so awesome to have this L4D 1 gaming day. I'm thinking at survival competitions or versus matches.

Re: L4D , ANYONE?
The sad truth is, Valve killed L4D1 when they launched L4D2. Nobody wants to play it, as it's so flawed compared to the sequel.

Re: L4D , ANYONE?
I would argue that the sequel has even more flaws than the original game.
Huge open area maps, excessive item spawns and overpowered weapons, in addition to increased infected spawn times and a flawed scoring system that disregards survivor health when calculating score. L4D2 is terrible as far as Versus goes and Valve refuses to acknowledge that.
I've went back to playing L4D1 after my L4D2 revocation incident, and I was pleasantly surprised - the public has improved a lot, teamwork is now a norm and ragequits are far less common.
Also Versus is a lot more fun, due to more intelligent map design, lack of overpowered melee and bile as well as no defibs and medkit spam that makes killing a survivor borderline impossible.
The lack of variety in special infected is actually a very positive thing. You always have a team layout that can do some damage, even without the almost guaranteed Boomer spawn. Sure, Spitters helped against corner camping, but the abundance of ineffective special infected combinations(such as Jockey/Spitter/Smoker/Hunter with no boomer spawn) hamper gameplay more than anything else does.
And getting 3 Hunters and a Smoker is just awesome. That's a chance of wiping out the whole enemy team, if you can pull off the team coordination required.
Either way, I wouldn't mind joining in on some L4D1 action. I still have survival maps without medals of any kind.

Inability to spit and charge means its cheesetastic corner camping time! Ruins it for me. Seriously, I dont know how anyone can argue the sequel isn't a major improvement. But whatever floats your boat man.
Anyways I was just making the point that you will have a hard time finding people up for playing L4D1 right now.
