I just had a thought. I think a better indication would be conceded cans. Going with the least gained cans penalises teams who play survivors first, get all 16 cans, and then only let their opponents gain one or two. If we use conceded cans as a tie break it doesn't matter who plays first.

Yeah I like that.

Do the 16 cans for win +2 cans for a quick win but also record conceeded cans, and thats the tiebreaker.

In the unlikely event we have a 2 teams with same score and same conceeded cans Gimpy decides the winner based on best BJ ability from the team captain.

if there's a chance that 2 teams tie with the same score and conceaded cans why not just let the 2 teams play it out and there can only be one winner then

How about we just say 3 points for a win, +1 point for a two round win and record rounds lost against rounds won for a "Win Ratio" like goal difference in football? For a bonus/incentive you could have +1 pts for any round where you bag all 16 cans and +1 pt for any round where your opponent scores 0 cans. That could liven it up a bit...



Or if you really want to use cans and a bonus system - 10 points for winning a round, plus you start the round with 16 bonus points and any cans the enemy team score in that round get knocked off your 16.

This would mean you could score 26 points in one round if you won and the enemy got no cans in [10 + (16 - 0) = 26 pts

If they got say 11 cans in and you won you would get [10pts + (16-11)] = 15 pts

If you won but your opponent got 16 cans in you would get [10pts + (16 - 16)] = 10 pts


To reward teams for getting large numbers of cans I'd suggest total number of cans scores is tracked and 2 points or so awarded for every 10 cans scored overall. This would allow teams to earn points even if they lose - every can counts in some way.

Fairest system I can think of using a can bonus system. I'd prefer to just keep it simple with 3 points for a win and "win ratio" for deciding end of season draws.

If you employ any can based bonus system 3 round matches will always be worth more league points.


A way round this is to move to 4 rounds per map therefore allowing the possibility of a game draw whilst still awarding more league points to the team which performed better.

ye i think the football system would be the easiest and if we get a tie we could just make the teams play against each other as zeus mentioned.
why should we need such a complicated system for a friendly league?

Me and pilsy had a chat....i did the football system on paper and it works fine

+3 points for a win.
+1 point for a 2 round win

It works , and thats as simple as we can get it.

other bonus's can also work.

Just edited in a bonus points option for the 3 point scheme. Simplified below:

+3pts Game win.

+1pt if you score 16 cans in a round.
+1pt if you prevent your opponent getting any cans in a round.
+1pt if you win in 2 rounds.

You won't get this chance if you play infected first and the other team get less than 15 cans. Other than that, sounds good.

Thats why the 0 cans for infected bonus is there Lucius, as you can only get that one if you go infected first :P.
