Fight Night - Saturday 8th Jan from 7pm GMT - win hats!
HAMPSHIRE HEAVIES FIGHT NIGHT SIGNUP THREAD - 8th JANUARY 7PM-8PM (GMT)
HH Fight Night is a fun community match held every Saturday night from 7pm - 8pm (GMT) for two maps. All players may signup to these events, whether you're a newbie reg or an experienced league player, however Fight Night is a step up from the pub servers and you must be willing to coordinate with your team in a more competitive style of play. As such, players with working microphones will be given priority over those without them.
Teams Players are sorted into teams based on the classes they prefer to play and their skill level, with the aim being to keep both teams balanced for a fair and fun fight. Class limits are 1 with maximum players of 18 (9v9/highlander).
Team leaders are selected for each team and will generally have more competitive experience. Their job is to discuss general tactics with the team and order other players about during the match, as well as getting their players ingame and finding replacements should any not turn up.
*Win Free Items & Hats!* To enter Fight Night you must offer up one item, which is given to the team leader before the match. After the match, the losing team's items are distributed among the winners. The better the item you gamble, the better the item you'll get if your team wins.
Voice Chat Mumble is a much higher quality alternative to the regular in-game voice chat you use on public servers, and is used in all HH events. It can be downloaded here, and takes about 10 minutes to setup.
Once installed you will be guided through a wizard to setup your audio settings. By default Mumble is setup to automatically transmit your voice when you speak, however for gaming it is highly recommended that you switch to Push to Talk mode and set the voice key to a different one than the one you use in TF2. You can configure this setting on the 'Voice Activity Detection' page of the wizard.
Once configured, choose Server -> Connect -> Add New. Enter settings as listed below: Servername: Hampshire Heavies Mumble Server Address: mumble.thehh.co.uk Port: 50114 Username: [your name]
Once connected, you can join different channels to speak to the people within them by double-clicking on the channel name.
Rules - Be on the server by at least 6.50pm (GMT) so we can make a swift start - You must stay for the full hour - If you can't make it, tell your team leader well before the match - All unlocks allowed
Advice - Stick together and protect your medic - Consider your role in the team, your position in the map and the unlocks you will use based on your class - Use voice comms when needed, but be concise
To Signup Reply to the thread with the following info:
Your preferred 3 classes
Your Steam profile URL
Whether you have a working microphone
An item you wish to gamble
Please also indicate if you would like to be a team leader.
Once the teams have been organized I will PM all players with the name of their team leader (who they should add to their Steam friends) , the server info and the maps being played.
I guess I'm taking Engi again. Either that or Medic. Heavy can be my last resort.

Please post all the info you're asked to in the post - your top 3 classes, Steam URL, whether you have a mic and the item you wish to gamble.
This saves me time as I don't have to look back on previous posts or ask you personally for your best classes, and means I can sort out the item gambling well beforehand.

So it's a choice of either
Lose and lose a rare valuable item. Win and get something really great. or Lose and it's no big loss. Win and get inferior prizes.
Sheesh, tough decision. Lucky for me I don't have many hats so I don't have any I don't mind losing.
See it this way; you have two spare hats. You lose one week, losing your hat. You gamble your 2nd hat the next week and win, getting gambled hat and a new hat.
