Fight Night - Saturday 12th Feb from 7pm GMT - moved!
HAMPSHIRE HEAVIES FIGHT NIGHT SIGNUP THREAD - 12th FEBRUARY 7PM-8PM (GMT)
HH Fight Night is a fun community match held every Saturday night from 7pm - 8pm (GMT) for two maps. All players may signup to these events, whether you're a newbie reg or an experienced league player, however Fight Night is a step up from the pub servers and you must be willing to coordinate with your team in a more competitive style of play. As such, players with working microphones will be given priority over those without them.
Teams Players are sorted into teams based on the classes they prefer to play and their skill level, with the aim being to keep both teams balanced for a fair and fun fight. If the teams are 6v6 or 7v7, the classic lineup of 2 soldiers(or 1 soldier/1 heavy), 1/2 medics, 1 demoman, 2 support will be used. If the teams are 8v8 or 9v9, classes will be limited to one each. You may not switch to a class that wasn't specified in the roster without asking before the match and getting consent from the other team. Since I'm bad at English and this might sound confusing, here's an example:
There are six classes specified, thus the players are tied to these classes, so PlayerE and PlayerF may switch between themselves, but PlayerF cannot go spy or sniper or engineer UNLESS their captain asks the other team captain if it's OK before the match starts.
Team leaders are selected for each team and will generally have more competitive experience. Their job is to discuss general tactics with the team and order other players about during the match, as well as getting their players ingame and finding replacements should any not turn up.
*Win Free Items & Hats!* To enter Fight Night you must offer up one item, which is given to the team leader before the match. After the match, the losing team's items are distributed among the winners. The better the item you gamble, the better the item you'll get if your team wins.
Voice Chat Mumble is a much higher quality alternative to the regular in-game voice chat you use on public servers, and is used in all HH events. It can be downloaded here, and takes about 10 minutes to setup.
Once installed you will be guided through a wizard to setup your audio settings. By default Mumble is setup to automatically transmit your voice when you speak, however for gaming it is highly recommended that you switch to Push to Talk mode and set the voice key to a different one than the one you use in TF2. You can configure this setting on the 'Voice Activity Detection' page of the wizard.
Once configured, choose Server -> Connect -> Add New. Enter settings as listed below: Servername: Hampshire Heavies Mumble Server Address: mumble.thehh.co.uk Port: 50114 Username: [your name]
Once connected, you can join different channels to speak to the people within them by double-clicking on the channel name.
Rules - Be on the server by at least 6.50pm (GMT) so we can make a swift start - You must stay for the full hour - If you can't make it, tell your team leader well before the match - All unlocks allowed
Advice - Stick together and protect your medic - Consider your role in the team, your position in the map and the unlocks you will use based on your class - Use voice comms when needed, but be concise

Re: Fight Night - Saturday 5th Feb from 7pm GMT - improved!
Been taking a break from TF2 lately. Hence why my point count is still 1000.
But I'm back
Preferred Classes 1st: Engineer 2nd: Medic 3rd: Heavy I can play Pyro if push comes to shove and we really need one. But otherwise refer to the above list.
Re: Fight Night - Saturday 12th Feb from 7pm GMT - moved!
I have moved this match to next week due to lack of sign-ups and a lot of promises to make it next week. If you have already registered and wish to drop out PM me and/or reply to this thread.

Signing in to stop spam messages to my steam.
Classes:
1. Heavy 2. Demoman (Charging, to make Tox rage :p) 3. Engineer
Can also play: Medic, Spy. Decent as any class except pyro and scout, fantastically manly as heavy & demoman, good offense-focused engineer, "fast" medic w. long distance heal thanks to crossbow, nasty backstabber on choke points w. eternal reward.
