Post SUMMER SHOWDOWN #4 - HH vs. Lethal-Zone - all welcome

SUMMER SHOWDOWN #4
HAMPSHIRE HEAVIES vs. Lethal-Zone.eu
Sunday 21st August, 7pm BST/8pm CEST

This is the fourth in a series of community matches between the Hampshire Heavies and various TF2 communities. This time we are facing members of Lethal-Zone.eu.

Players of all skill levels and backgrounds can play for the Hampshire Heavies, however you should be prepared for a higher level of strategy and teamwork than you're used to on our public servers. If you have any questions about the event, don't hesitate to ask here or send me a PM.

Date & Format
  • Sunday 21st August
  • 7pm GMT+1 (British Summer Time)
  • 8pm GMT+2 (Central European Summer Time)
  • on HH server 5 - hh5.thehh.co.uk:27055
  • 9 vs 9
  • One player per class
  • One map chosen by each team, so long as we haven't played it in previous Summer Showdowns. If we need a tiebreaker, it must be a stock map chosen by the opposing team.
  • Best of 3 for KOTH and gravelpit, best of 1 for PL/AD (each team attacks once, each team defends once), best of 1 for TC, most caps in 30 minutes for CTF and most rounds won in 30 minutes for 5cp.
  • All items pre-Uber Update are allowed. Items that were released with the Uber Update or afterwards are banned.

Voice chat
Mumble will be used for voice chat - follow this easy guide to set it up. Microphones are highly recommended for community events as a greater level of communication than found on public servers is needed.

Watch live
The event will be broadcast in a number of ways. It can be watched live on SourceTV (type connect hh5.thehh.co.uk:27024 into console) with commentary via Mumble, through your browser on a live stream (with the same commentary), or after the match with a SourceTV demo that will be uploaded.

Note: the STV IP address may change on the day.

Rules
  • Stay on the server for the full hour
  • If you can't attend, let your team leader know well before the match
  • Be prepared to communicate and cooperate with your teammates
  • Turn up at least 30 minutes early so we can discuss strategy and get any issues sorted. Turn up on time! The 30 minutes pre-match discussion is important and everyone needs to be there.

Advice
  • Buy a microphone and set it up
  • Stay with your teammates in a group - if you're a core fighting class you shouldn't go off by yourself
  • Protect your medic

To signup
  • Reply to the thread with your best 3 classes,
  • your Steam profile URL,
  • and whether you have a working microphone.

Please post all the above info, even if you're just a backup player.

After nine players have signed up we could still really do with some backup players, so continue posting! Backups get a reserved spot in next week's match too, if they don't get to play.

Reserved spots for those who dropped out (with good warning) last time, or signed up as a backup:

Mj-healy
fluff-a-licious
selsper
KanE
Cuddles

With the exception of Cuddles I haven't actually confirmed that these people can come, so keep signing up as normal.

I'd like to be Heavy again, or Spy or Heavy.

I do not have a microphone because it died.

As you don't have a mic essentially you just put down one class deepblue, so I'll assume your other two are pyro and engi

I'll be a backup Sniper or Soldier if people disappear on the eve of battle.

Have a working mic now.

As I said in the first showdown thread, I just added Medic and Heavy for the sake of having three choosable classes.

Ok Engi is fine so that's two and since you suggested Pyro, I'll start practicing with it.
I would be best not playing pyro this time around but with enough practice I should be at the very least a passable pyro by the next showdown.

So my classes are now;
Scout, Engi and Pyro (In that order, the last being the one I still to work on)
