3) Since it would probably be a bad idea to just kill everyone who voted to get me lynched, since a pattern would quicklyl emerge. I would choose targets who couldnt be connected as easily. And later on, go for the ones who had shown hostility towards me.

1) Nope! This is my first crack at a forum game like this.

2) Definately don't be the first to vote as that could provoke a reaction from the Mafia. Try and be the deciding vote or help swing things in a direction after a good number of votes have been cast. If you get rumbled, pray the Medic's still alive.

3) The quiet ones. No-one will notice until they find the bodies locked in a cupboard somewhere.

4) Tricky. Once the votes start piling against you, you're pretty screwed. Honestly not sure what I'd do under those circumstances :/

5) I'm not scum because I'm too damned honest and courtious for my own good. Not all nice guys finish last!

1] Have you played a Mafia game like this before?
Never played this game before.

2] General Sheriff game plan
The Sheriff has game changing power. The initial few days everyone is safest, as the % chance of being killed is lowest. This is the time the Sheriff should build a list of suspects via night phase investigations. Three days are statistically all he needs to accidentally stumble upon mafia scum. After this, his priority is to identify the medic. Whether he now discloses his role depends on how his investigations have been coming and the recent finger pointing/voting trends.

Hypothetically, if I was the Sheriff, I wouldn't consider the Serial Killer as part of this game. Even if I found out who he was during the night, in the early game, I would leave him be. His ability to dispatch anyone during the night is quite valuable. When the player count starts to dwindle however, removing the one completely random variable makes sense.
The above sentiment only applies if the killer is killing randomly as many of the initial comments seem to recommend. As time goes on the Serial killer will more than likely murder with motive likely resulting in him maintaining even-ish factions.

3] You are the Serial Killer. Who do you target?
Initially do not kill anyone. Watch the way the lynching votes go and try to correlate that with the mafia murder. Then begin killing to maintain order.

Or go mad and kill anyone/everyone.

4] You're just a regular Townie whose posts are being called out as scummy. How do you defend yourself?
If I was called out I would like to see what evidence would support such a vote. And then I attempt to oppose by contrary proof.

And if that failed, I would go into my kitchen get some chocolate ice-cream, sit down and cry for a while. Then I would make a list of all who voted for me, and from that day forth make it my life mission to dominate them with sniper (charged bodyshot) kills every day.

Like schokomesser said, I too played the card game variant, called Weerwolven van Wakkerdam in Dutch.

Never played on a forum though. Now I can't base my suspicions on things like intonation, facial expressions and body language.

For now I'd VOTE NO LYNCH, since we don't have any clues to work with. Plus, I don't want to anger any potential dangerous people.

I mean, I have three daughters to feed, I'm not taking risks this early.

Vote No Lynch. Odds on, I'd end up voting for the medic like a flare gun fired into a group!

Very suspicious votes there from Bedizen and Tram Cho Cho, without any apparent reason to suspect their victims of being mafia scum. Going for Bedizen since he already received a vote.

Havn't played a game like this before.

Gonna take a no lynch vote first off. Don't know anything about who is who yet, so I will wait and see what will happen.
