In my opinion it is a nice server feature.
I do understand that can be used to giref and spray obscenities but not being able to use my decal freely is something that kept me away from the HH servers for quite some time, as stupid as this might sound, and maybe discourages other players as well.

I'm not very good with plugin and server stuff but this might help, at least for a test run.

We should indeed give it a try again, but if sprays will get abused then I we should go back to the way it is now. Or maybe only give the regulars and donators(not admins c;) the availability to use sprays?

Sprays are too easy to abuse and hard to manage and that's without the issues that arise on whats acceptable so this will likely be an open and shut case. In my opinion it's a no, it was quiet literally too much work to police it when i was playing TF2 made harder because people will argue that their spray is acceptable when we as admins deemed it not to be. It's a can of worms that does not need to be opened.

On a related note, Valve has virtually admitted that sprays are a bad idea themselves by removing them entirely from CSGO.

Bear in mind if we open up sprays but don't police it we can potentially get into trouble with the authorities. This is hard to do with such a popular server, and the HH does not have its own legal team.

On a serious note, I doubt anybody spraying NSFW / offensive / serious (e.g. CP) images but it's still possible as with any other server.

That's why I've suggested a plugin that looked like would help the mod team, but ofc gotta respect their decision.

Honestly I don't think it would be abused that often since people playing on the server are mostly regs, so players that in most cases enjoy and respect the server.

Oh you'd be surprised. frog once linked us to a cache that had stored all the sprays of the people who'd played on our server the past two weeks and it there was some preetty rough stuff in there. That stuff was just a button press away from being on spawn walls for everyone to see.

Even when we did have a spray removal tool, stuff like that was hard to moderate and now we even have less admins on than before.

That's a bummer.

Little Note from my side:
You can find yourself any spray you ever saw in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\materials\temp

Only thing you need is VTFEdit. It takes some time to find a special one but if you clear that folder every time before you play TF2 it is pretty easy to get sprays from other people.
